WELCOME

"Thorpe Lea is a good, and improving school with some outstanding features" Ofsted November 2006

Welcome to the Thorpe Lea Primary and Nursery School prospectus, we hope that you find the information useful and if you have any further questions, please pop in and ask.

Our school is well respected within our community, and we are delighted that so many of our former pupils, carry on the family tradition and send their own children to Thorpe Lea! We are proud to have a tradition of providing a stimulating and creative environment for your children, as they start their learning journey from age three in our nursery, to age eleven in year six. For all of us who work at Thorpe Lea, it is our aim to provide a learning atmosphere where there is respect for people of every age, creed and colour.

THE AIMS OF THORPE LEA

The aims of our school are interwoven into the Every Child Matters Agenda and are shared by all our staff. We strive to create an environment that is passionate about life long learning, provided within a creative and reflective professional learning community.

Our children are educated to become:

Healthy

Stay safe

Enjoy and achieve

Make a positive contribution

Achieve economic well being

A broad, balanced, fulfilling and fun curriculum is provided, where there are equal learning opportunities for all children; and where each child's unique individuality is encouraged. Above all, we wish children in our school to be happy and to feel valued and successful, so that, by the time they leave Thorpe Lea they are ready and eager to go forward, having established a firm foundation for the future during their time with us.
